Abstract (EN)

This study aims forming the basis of Local Social Studies, conducted in Ankara- Beypazarı in accordance with principles from near to far, from known to unknown, from concrete to abstract and timeliness and reflective thinking principles, using local items for pedagogical purposes. This study in which qualitative research method was used was carried out in Ankara- Beypazarı in the spring semester of 2015- 2016 education year. For the purpose of data collection, an interview form was prepared and has been implemented on a voluntary basis. The necessary permissions have been taken. Data obtained as a result of the study is explored through descriptive analysis. In the data collected for research, teachers, students and locals pointed out that talking about local items in Social Studies would be useful, it would attract students' interest and it would cause the students to know their immediate environment better. According to the research findings it is seen that teachers and students don't know much about local items. In this context it is among suggestions that especially teachers should. Make up the deficiencies regarding local items in teaching social studies. Keywords: Localness, Social Studies, Beypazarı
