Social studies teacher candidates faced challenges and solutions in the context of school experience lesson

The aims of this study are to identify the problems of preservice teachers within the scope of school experience course and offer solutions to overcome the problems. This research was conducted in Abant İzzet Baysal University, Social Sciences Teaching at 2011-2012 Fall term. The study was conducted with 20 participants who are senior students, an instructor who menitors School Experience course at Abant İzzet Baysal University Social Sciences Department and 5 teachers at local teaching practise schools, and the administrative staff who has made this organization at Ministry of National Education.In this research study, pre and post interviews with preservice teachers were made at beginning and after school experience course. In addition similar interviews were conducted with the instructor, administrator and the 4 practice teachers at one time througt out the semester the analysis of the interview data was made by applying contend analysis and descriptive analysis techniques. Opinions of preservice teachers and school teachers were first coded and then similar codes were classified until the data were organized. The interview data of the administrator were only descriptived instecal of content analysis.The findings of the research were presented in four category preservice teachers, administrative, instructor, practice teachers. The results of the study indicated that the School Experience course is advantageous and meaningful, however the course has not been manitered effectively by both school teachers and the instructor.The results show us the lacks which should be reorganised and noticed of the system, preservice teachers, the lecturer who is advisor, and the practice teachers.
