Abstract (EN)
In the study, it was aimed to determine the opinions of social studies teacher candidates about social studies teaching through distance education. In the research process, it was aimed to determine the distribution of social studies teacher candidates' views on distance education and the level of their opinions on distance education. In addition, in the study, it was aimed to determine whether the opinions of social studies teacher candidates on distance education differ significantly according to gender, class of education, internet usage status and participation in any distance education program before the pandemic process. For these purposes, scanning model was preferred in the research. The sample of the study consists of 202 social studies teacher candidates determined by using the "Simple Random Sampling" method. Within the scope of the research, a data collection set consisting of two parts was used. In the first part of the data set, there are questions that are used to determine the personal characteristics of pre-service teachers participating in the study, while the second part includes the "Distance Education Scale". In the study, it was determined that social studies teacher candidates showed high participation in distance education providing flexibility to attend the lessons whenever they want and wherever they want. In addition, it was determined in the study that distance education is not an alternative to face-to-face education, and learning-teaching activities are more functional in face-to-face education than in distance education.
