The using frequency in the texts in the textbooks of the level of the sixth and seventh classes and the evaluation of the levels of introduction, development and reinforcement of the concepts which take place in the social studies program

In this study, the frequency of the use of the concepts existing in the social studies programme in the sixth and the seventh grade social studies course books and the evaluation in terms of the grades of beginning, improving and reinforcement has been researched. The course and workbooks of social studies being instructed in the primary schools in Demirci-MANİSA have been resources for this research.A general survey model is chosen among the different types of research survey models. The findings that resulted from the analysis of the contents of the books were put in a table and led us to the following results:It has been observed the most of the concepts existing in the academic programme of the social studies in the sixth and seventh grades have not been used in the texts of Social Studies Course Book and Social Studies Students Work Book.It has been observed that following items don?t take place in course and work books:- 50 items of concepts in the texts in the sixth grade Social Studies Work Book,- 79 items of concepts in the texts in the sixth grade Social Studies Students Work Book,- 34 items of concepts in the texts in the seventh grade Social Studies Work Book,- 55 items of concepts in the texts in the seventh grade Social Studies Students Work Book,It has been observed that nine of the concepts in the sixth grade have not been in any of the units in the seventh grade. There has been lack of cooperation on concepts of the sixth grade Social Studies Programme and the part of `the concepts of our unit? in the beginnings of the units. It has been observed that ` there have been 80 items of concepts which have to be in the sixth grade but not having been.?It has been observed that the concepts of `customs and theocracy? existing in the sixth grade Social Studies Programme have not been in the sixth grade Social Studies Teacher?s Book; Social Studies Work Book and Social Studies Students Work Book and these concepts have been presented in the beginning grade in the sixth grade concepts but have not been in the concepts in the seventh grade.It has been observed that sixth grade concepts have been aimed to be instructed mainly in the level of improving and reinforcement , the seventh grade concepts to be instructed nearly almost in the reinforcement level.The concepts have been repeated in the texts as words, clearly, in addition to that it has been rarely observed the concepts in the texts in Social Studies Work Book and the activities in Social Studies Students Work Book to be instructed in the level of reinforcement ,Keywords: Concept, Social Studies, Social Studies Programme.
