Abstract (EN)
This research aims to examine Alevism in Adıyaman from a sociological perspective. Adıyaman Alevism holds a significant place in both the country and the Southeastern Anatolia Region, and the study examines the role of Alevism in social life and the phenomenon of social integration in the region. The beliefs and religious practices of the people of Adıyaman who practice Alevism are examined, emphasizing the influence of Alevism on the social structure of the region. Social integration, as a social phenomenon present in the context of Adıyaman, is comprehensively analyzed. Furthermore, the extent to which individuals, who are becoming both secular and individualized, remain faithful to their ties to Alevism and their beliefs is investigated. While Adıyaman Alevism may externally resemble a traditional, closed structure, its actual social structure and its social structure are scientifically explored. The research presents sociologically significant findings and reveals data from the social sphere. The aim of the research is to provide a solid, scientifically sound explanation of this issue, which is of great regional and national importance. This process fosters a sense of solidarity and a world of meaning that does not threaten social structure but rather reinforces its functioning. Societies often undergo a process of integration around historically and culturally dominant structures. Social integration means that individuals accept the social order, adapt to societal values, and adopt an attitude that does not disrupt social order. The research was conducted using qualitative methods, interviews, and documentation. The research findings reveal the strength of Alevism and social integration in Adıyaman, and that the Alevi identity has a decisive impact on social harmony. Human differences are viewed differently, not as threats to society, but as sources of enrichment. Thanks to the positive role of Adıyaman society, the concept of coexistence with differences (Alevi-Sunni) has gained strength and become easier to implement. While other sub-identities are seen as factors that can create social conflict, society continues to achieve social integration by mitigating these negative aspects. Key Words: Adıyaman Alevism, Alevism, social integration
