Changes in the religious and social approaches of the religious officers in the social change process(Çanakkale province, Biga district)

Human life is a whole in general meaning. There are a lot of socio-cultural, religious, economical, political, artistic etc factors in his life. The fact of religion is also an important element in the human life. A change which takes place in any area of the social life of the person effects him with the other aspects as well. Because human constitutes integrity with his material and moral aspects. Consequently, any change which appears in the material aspect of the human also influences his moral aspect, and any change which appears in the moral aspect of the human also influences his material aspect.Republic Turkey has become a community which tries to differentiate itself by means of some applications from the Ottoman social tradition in a lot of aspects. In particular, the applications which are performed in order to limit the role which the religious life plays in the Ottoman social structure is remarkable. Depending on these applications, the society underwent a process of change in Turkey. The religious life converted into a form which individualized gradually and addressed to the private belief areas of the humans in this process of change.With regard to the social relationships, the religious officer that is expected to be in a very close relationship with the society influences the society in the social and religious life as a consequence of this relationship and influenced from these areas. Consequently, as a result of this interaction, some changes are expected to happen in the religious and social approaches of the religious officers. This study tried to determine the changes in the social and religious approaches of the religious officers in our country, in Çanakkale province Biga district, and the theoretical information relating to the subject is provided in the first chapter and the results of the survey application are then evaluated in the second chapter.Keywords: Social Change, Religion, Religious Officer
