The goal of this study was to examine societal barriers to women participating in sports in the governorate of Erbil from the perspective of sports coaches, with a particular emphasis on how women see the economy and job chances. the advantages on the social front that women see in engaging in sports. 300 women were included in the sample. According to the findings, several economic and social advantages that women were not aware of were crucial. Dominant masculinity, a lack of education, poverty, inadequate social coverage, and sports activities were all obstacles to women's empowerment via involvement in sports. Based on the fact that sport is a human right for all, and that university women have a value in themselves, they are first women with feelings, needs and demands like the rest of society, and they have the energy to enjoy life and contribute to the pleasure of others, and based on the importance of sports activities as one of the urgent necessary requirements for university women to adapt and achieve and meet. this general goal came a set of sub-objectives as follows: Identifying the extent to which university women are aware of the importance of practicing sports activities, Identifying social barriers to university women's practice of sports, and this goal is achieved by revealing: Social barriers associated with the self-perception of the body, Social barriers related to social and academic organization within the college. Social barriers arranged in sub-sports activities, Social barriers that hinder the practice of sports activities among women in universities for sports, Social barriers associated with the family's attitude towards sports, The study sought to answer the following questions: There is a statistically significant correlation between social barriers and sports activities by women in Erbil Governorate from the point of view of sports coaches, There is a statistically significant correlation between sports activities and social barriers and by women in Erbil governorate from the point of view of sports coaches, Sport has significant potential to advance women's economic and social status, according to the study's findings. Because they lack education, women are unmotivated to participate in sports on an individual, family, and communal level because they are unaware of the benefits of exercise on their health. In both urban and rural regions, hegemonic masculinity, a lack of education, poverty, and a lack of media coverage have emerged as the major obstacles to women participating in sport. Women are less involved in sport due to poverty in their areas.
