Economic burden of hemodialysis treatment in terms of Social Security Institution

According to the international descriptons which have been accepted, Chronical Kidney Dissease (CKD) has been descripted as physical and functional abnormalities sinc more than three months (National Kidney Foundation, 2002; Zoccali et al, 2010). CKD evaluates in five stages according to it?s severity. With regards to these stages the sickness has beeb evaluated as End stage Renal Dissease (ESRD) if it?s 5 th stage and has been started the Renal Replacement Therapy or at the condition of Glomerular Filtration Rate is the less from 5 mL/min (Zoccali et al, 2010; Winearls, 2003). It is very important that to prevent CKD and/ or to get slow of improring to ESRD by catching it in earlier stages (McClellan et al, 1997; Hsu, Chertow, 2000; Çınkır, 2011). It has been affected as negative which will be able to take the benefits of RRT, if the RRT starts late. Therefore the CKD is on the front burner ever it brings a loud into the patient?s life or it brings a loud in to the government, health center and people as financial. Social Security İnstution (SSI) had been solely payer administration with passing to the apply of General Health İnsurance. The main aim of this study to fix the loud to the SSI of hemodialysis therapy as RRT. From the SSI?s perpective, the one year average cost of hemodialysis patient has been found 26.937.70 TL at this study using methodology of dissease cost.Key words: ESRD, RRT, The cost of hemodialysis patient, SSI
