Autonmy in Social Security Institution within the social security reform

In the world, social security systems are dynamic systems that are constantly changing according to the conditions and needs of the day. Reforms were carried out in the Turkish social security system within its own system. In the framework of social security reform, this study dealing with the autonomy in the Social Security Institution aims to determine whether administrative autonomy can be achieved by examining the institutional structure of the Social Security Institution on the basis of the Law No. 5502. In addition to theoretical secondary sources, official statistical data have been used in this study to contribute to the scientific literature related to this topic. Moreover, the changes made after the reform were reflected in the study to make the study up-to-date. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that in the Social Security Institution established in place of the social security institutions, the real administrative autonomy cannot be maintained, and it is inevitable that the Turkish social security system will face the same problems that cause the reform as long as it continues to be open to populist interventions.
