Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to examine cyberbullying, forms of bullying on social networks and cyberbullying behaviors among social media users. In the study, participants were compared in terms of cyberbullying and cyberbullying behaviors according to gender, age, education and income status, and use of social media tools. The results of the analysis revealed that cyberbullying differed according to gender. It was determined that as the time spent on social media increased, the participants were more exposed to cyberbullying and engaged in more cyberbullying. As a result of the analysis, it was found that 3.5% bullying was encountered in social networks. With the increase in internet access, the introduction of online information and social media into our daily lives has brought digital violence, which is a new form of social violence. With the development of technology, many types of crime have moved to the network environment as a continuation of offline crime. The transfer of crime types requires the perpetrator to communicate directly with the victim over the internet, which expands the crime type in terms of content, scope and scale. Women who actively use social media face threats and comments that directly attack their gender, gender identity and safety. Violence against women and girls is seen as a violation of women's human rights and a form of discrimination against women. Various forms of violence, not only physical, but also sexual, psychological and economic, are addressed and the consequences of gender inequality are considered in this context. This study compares demographic variables such as gender, age, education and income level of social media users with cyberbullying and cyberbullying behaviors. In addition, the link between cyberbullying and social network user status was also investigated. This study addresses the definition, assessment, classification, and influencing factors of cyberbullying experienced by social network users and aims to help prevent cyberbullying, minimize the victimization caused by cyberbullying tendencies, and structure it to meet this need.
