Abstract (EN)
The purpose of social media, which emerged with Web 2.0 technology, is to create an environment that facilitates communication and interaction among individuals and enables their socialization. Social media, which falls under the category of new media, is preferred more than traditional media. One of the main reasons for this is that social media allows information to be accessed quickly compared to traditional media and provides easy responses to people's needs. Social media platforms are accessible to everyone regardless of age, gender, or status. Social media, which contains all kinds of information, includes platforms that are wide-ranging, comprehensive, rich, and deep, varying according to users' preferences, needs, and the information they seek. A portion of social media users consists of housewives. Housewives are non-working women who manage household responsibilities and take care of their children. This study will examine why housewives residing in Trabzon turn to social media and the role of social media in their daily life practices. It will investigate what kind of information housewives need in their daily life practices and which pages and sites they prefer to access and use this information. The study will be conducted through Instagram, a photo and video sharing site.
