Abstract (EN)
Measuring, monitoring and evaluating scientific studies through bibliometric analysis has a decisive role in the decision-making processes and strategic plans of an author, journal or publisher. Databases such as Web of Science and Scopus, which index the the scientific studies, are important for journals to be accepted in the scientific world and to be accepted as a reputable source. In this context, this study will examine the journals in the fields of social sciences, arts and humanities with Turkish addressesd journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus and Google Scholar databases and reveal the differences between reputable indexes and multidisciplinary indexes that everyone can easily access. The study aims to obtain the general image of the journals in the relevant indexes with descriptive and evaluative bibliometric analyzes and to reveal the differences between the indexes comparatively. In this context, co-citation and co-author analysis techniques were applied to the publication and citation data obtained from these databases for bibliometric analysis. The findings obtained were visualized and the links between publications, authors and countries were revealed. While analyzing the data of the study, it was concluded that the databases are not consistent with each other in indexing publications, there are differences in indexing by years due to different journal selection criteria, and all alternative tools should be used together to obtain a more complete picture of the scientific impact of academic publications.
