Relationship between social capital and education

The relationship between social capital and family education, social structure, relationships and networks in the context of interaction with the educational environment and culture that spotlights the evaluation of results is important in terms of educational goals and policies. In this context, the aim of this theoretical study, based on literature review, is to evaluate the relationship between social capital and education in the light of the data obtained from literature review.In this scanning model generated study, these findings are attained: There is a strong link between occupation, level of confidence and level of education. Educational culture and factors have positive effects on participating in social networks, civic participation and confidence. Education contributes to social welfare by effecting human development. All educational factors especially educational environment, activities, curriculum and pedagogy influence the formation of social capital.In the study, dealt with the problem, necessary answers are looked for under the guided settings that the importance of education as a determinant of social capital and as an indicator of and human development, elements of social capital, education and training processes, social cohesion and education policies, family and social environment under the effect of educational setting guided this study.In conclusion, a strong interaction between education and social capital is present. Education, by developing social skills, can contribute to the accumulation of social capital. Educational institutions can affect civil participation and social cohesion by their influence to individuals' status and income level in addition to transferring of the culture and values to individuals. It can be said that factors, which make up culture of education, can contribute level of social capital by affecting dimensions of civic education.
