Abstract (EN)
English language learning programme is quite important and compulsory subject in Turkish education system. The importance of language learning is increasing day by day and for this reason extensive studies are carried out on English language programme. In consequence of these studies, English language learning programme is regulated with the decision of the national education ministry and education board. With this regulation, English language learning starts at the 2nd level of primary school, communicative language learning method is used, listening and speaking skills are focused, technolgy is needed more. The aim of this study is to research the implementation of new English language learning programme in socioeconomically different schools, to decide its practicality and to state the factors affecting implementation in classrooms. In accordance with this aim, students in the 4th level of primary school and their English teachers are sampled in three socioeconomically different schools. The data set is obtained by the way of qualitative method and its interview and observation techniques. With multiple case studies, cases more than one in other words socioeconomically different schools are examined and the related data set is found out. The data set is analysed with the content analysis technique. In consequences of these analysis, it is revealed that the new English language learning programme is implemented efficiently in socioeconomically good and average schools in other words in most schools. Also, the factors in classroom positively affect this situation. The new English language teaching programme can not be implemented effectively in socioeconomically inadequate schools due to inadequate classroom factors. On the basis of these results, it is revealed that English language learning programme is implemented effectively in most schools however; the whole success can not be obtained due to inadequate clasroom factors.
