Abstract (EN)

Abstract painting is an art movement that has emerged as a result of the artist's pursuit of overcoming the rules and materiality imposed by the outside world in her/his art, reaching her/his inner world and shouting her/his feelings and thoughts freely. The artist has applied to many painting elements to express herself/himself in the abstract painting. It was one of the most important items that she/he applied and was the color element she/he used to get rid of the form's restriction. With the change and liberation of thought styles, art has gone beyond the usual rules and incorporated emotions and thoughts into its structure. Thus, the first steps of the "Abstract Painting" movement were taken, the artist got rid of the form and left herself/himself to the freedom of emotional world of colors. The artist, who searched for the colors to affect her/his audience in a way that affects her/him, from time to time used the color independently from form and from time to time reinforcing its meaning by form. In this study, the use of color in abstract paintings is emphasized and some of the leading foreign and local artists of the abstract paintings are examined and it is revealed how they used the color element in the expression and what kind of effects they create. Keywords: Art, Abstract Painting, Colour, Light.
