Özet (EN)

In this study, general characteristics of plasma, also known as fourth state of matter, are explained by the thermodynamic state of plasma, the ambient pressure at which it is obtained and the way the power supply is connected. Methods for determining electron temperature and electron density of plasmas having low temperature were researched. In the framework of this study, dielectric barrier discharge-like (DBD-like) system was used to obtain argon (Ar) plasma jet. 8 kV voltage and 20 kHz frequency alternating current power source was used. Atmospheric pressure generated plasma jet (APPJ) was investigated by optic emission spectroscopy (OES). The main purpose of this study is to calculated the electron temperature using the line ratio method of the spectral line intensities obtained from the optical emission spectra. In order to this method two spectral lines, which are sensitive for electron temperature, were chosen from the spectrum intensities obtained from OES and the electron temperature of Ar plasma jet was calculated from the line intensity ratio of these spectral lines.
