Abstract (EN)
Summary: The limitations and possible complaints caused by the physical and psychological changes experienced by pregnant women negatively affect the quality of life of pregnant women. Objective: This study was conducted to compare the pregnancy complaints and quality of life of women who became pregnant spontaneously and those who became pregnant after infertility treatment. Materials and Methods: This research, with a comparative-descriptive design, was conducted between April 15, 2022 and September 15, 2022, in a private clinic serving as an in vitro fertilization center and pregnancy polyclinic in Turkey, with a total of 220 pregnant women, 110 of whom became pregnant spontaneously and 110 of whom became pregnant after infertility treatment. Research data were collected from pregnant women using an introductory information form and the Pregnancy Complaints and Effects on Quality of Life Scale, face to face in 10-15 minutes. Results: The average age of spontaneous pregnancies was 31.17±4.70, and the average age of IVF pregnancies was 34.50±4.83. The average GYYKEÖ score of women who became pregnant spontaneously is 52.00±25.04 (min:2-max:136), in women who became pregnant after infertility treatment, it was found to be 49.70±27.14 (min: 10-max: 35). There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of GYYKEÖ score averages (p>0.05). Conclusion: Complaints experienced during pregnancy limit the lives of pregnant women. Nurses can first identify the complaint that pregnant women complain about the most and that restrict their lives, and provide the pregnant woman with the necessary information and training on ways to cope with the complaints. It can increase the quality of life of the pregnant woman by reducing the discomfort and complaints seen in the pregnant woman.
