Investigation of the effect of internet addiction levels of students of the faculty of sports sciences on the fear of missing developments in social environments

In this research, it is aimed to investigate the effect between the Internet addiction levels of the students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the fear of missing out on developments in social environments. For this purpose, a total of 735 people from the departments of Physical Education Teaching, Coaching, Sports Management, Recreation of the Faculties of Sports Sciences of Dumlupınar University, Afyon Kocatepe University, Süleyman Demirel University, Selçuk University, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University participated in the study for the 2022-2023 academic year. Of the 735 students participating in the study, 456 are women and 279 are male students. A Personal Information Form containing some variables created by the researcher, the Fear of Missing Out on Social Events Scale and the Internet Addiction Scale were applied to the students. According to the responses of university students, descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test for normality test, Regression Analysis for the effect between, T-test, ANOVA Tests were used to compare the averages of more than two groups. As a result of the study, it was found that there is a positive Decelerating medium-level effect between internet addiction and the fear of missing out on developments. There is a significant effect between students' levels of Internet addiction and fear of missing out on Deciency. It has been revealed that the fear of missing out on developments scores have a significant effect in terms of the variables given in the personal information form.
