Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the relationship between the internet usage habits of students at Bayburt University Faculty of Sports Sciences and their attitudes towards wearable technological sports products. The research employs a general survey model, designed to describe and analyze the current situation as it exists. The study group consists of students enrolled in various departments at Bayburt University Faculty of Sports Sciences during the 2024-2025 academic year. Data collection was conducted using a two-part scale form. The first part comprised a personal information form, including demographic details, while the second part utilized the "Attitude Scale Towards Wearable Technological Sports Products (GTSÜYTÖ)" developed by Çar et al. (2022) and the "Internet Usage Habits Scale (İKAÖ)" developed by Özeren and Akpınar (2016). In the digital age, the widespread use of the internet and the integration of wearable technologies into sports play a crucial role in enhancing athletes' performance. Although previous literature has examined the role of the internet in accessing information, it has not sufficiently detailed how these habits shape attitudes towards wearable sports technologies. This study aims to fill this gap by analyzing how the frequency and purpose of internet use influence students' attitudes towards wearable technologies. The research findings indicate that variables such as gender, age, graduation status, frequency of physical activity, and the purpose of internet use have a significant effect on attitudes towards wearable technologies. Students engaged in individual sports, those who participate in regular physical activity, and long-term internet users exhibit more positive attitudes towards wearable technologies. Additionally, the duration and purpose of internet use directly influence attitudes towards wearable technological sports products. The findings of this study are expected to make significant contributions to research in the field of sports sciences related to internet and technology-based studies, providing valuable insights into how athletes interact with technology..
