Investigation of academic self-efficacy, KPSS exam preparation anxiety and burnout perceptions of students studying in sports sciences

This research was conducted to examine the academic self-efficacy, KPSS exam preparation anxiety and burnout perceptions of students studying in sports sciences in Turkey. The universe of the research consists of 3rd and 4th grade students studying in sports sciences in the 2022-2023 academic year. While determining the sample of the research, 429 female and male students studying in sports sciences were determined by convenience sampling method. In this study, a questionnaire consisting of four parts was designed as a data collection method. In order to obtain the results of the research, descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, frequency/percentage, normal distribution test (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test), as well as t-test for pairwise comparisons (Mann-Withney U test) Analysis of variance (Kruskal Wallis-H test) test and correlation test (Spearman Corelation Test) were used in multiple comparisons. As a result of the analyzes, while no statistically significant difference was found in the sub-dimensions of academic self-efficacy and burnout of the participants by gender, a statistically significant difference was found in the KPSS preparation anxiety sub-dimension. In addition, a statistically moderately positive and significant relationship was found between the KPSS preparation anxiety sub-dimension and the burnout sub-dimension.
