Examination of personality characteristics of students at high schools giving sports education and comparison with the students at other high schools

The aim of this study is to examine the structures of the personalities of the students studying at sports high schools and to make a comparison with the students at other high schools.As a result of the study, the sub-point averages of extroversion of national athletes were found to be meaningfully higher than the those who are not national athletes. Again when the students were compared in the sub-dimensions according to the branch of sports variable, it was found that the psychoticism points of the ones doing individual sports appears to be meaningfully higher than the ones dealing with volleyball and football (team sports). When the students at the sports high school were compared according to the sports age variable, it was understood that the lie sub-dimension average point of the students who have been doing sports for 7 years or more were meaningfully lower than the ones who have been doing sports in the 1-3 year or 4-6 year intervals. Furthermore, when all the sub-dimensions were compared according to the high school variable, it was seen that the psychoticism sub-dimension points appeared to be closer to the meaningfulness degree compared to the students at the other high school. Finally, when the students at the sports high school and at the other high school were compared according to the gender variable, it was found that there were no meaningful differences for the male students with respect to the high schools while the average psychoticism points of the female students at the sports high school appeared to be meaningfully lower than the female students at the other high school.
