Investigation of the dark tetrad behaviors in sports organizations

Theconcept of thedarktriad, whichcametothefore in thefield of psychologyabout 20 yearsago, has been an internationalresearchtopic in anydepartment in thesocialsciences, andextensive research has been done on this term. Overtheyears, anotherfactorwasaddedtothetermdarktriad (sadism), and it wasnamed as thedarkquartet. TheotherthreeconceptsareNarcissism, MachiavellianismandPsychopathy(Aytaç, 2021). Thesequalities can be found in organizationsandleaders. Althoughthere is an idea thatpeoplewhohavethesequalitiesaredangerous, researcheshavebeencarriedoutrecentlyaboutthefactthatthosewhohavethesecharacteristics can do usefulwork on behalf of theirorganizations. Studies in thisareahavegained momentum at theinternationallevel, but therearehardlyanystudies on thisissue in ourcountry, especially on sportsorganizations. Forthisreason, it is a necessitytoreveal how thesepersonalitytraitsareformed in thefield of sportsorganizations in thestudiescarriedout in ourcountry(Öztürk, 2019). Sportsorganizationsconsist of people, andthepersonalitytraits of thesepeopledirectlyaffectthefutureandsuccesslevel of organizations. Theaim of thisstudy is toexaminetherelationship of sportsorganizationswiththedarkfourandtheeffects of thesepsychologicalfactors on behaviors(Öztürk, 2019). It is aimedtoconveythedarkfourbehaviors in detailandtoconveytheplace of thesebehaviors in sportsorganizations. Inaddition, thenegativeandnegativeeffects of thesebehaviors in sportsorganizationswill be discussed. It is alsoamongtheaimsthattheresearches on thissubjectarescarce on behalf of ourcountry. Currently, thenumber of studies on thissubject in ourcountry is almostnon-existent. Therefore, it is thoughtto be an originalresearch. Inaddition, thepositiveandnegativeaspects of thedarkfourbehaviorswill be revealedand it will be evaluatedwhethertheyarebeneficialorharmful. It is plannedthatallpersonnelworking in sportsinstitutionsandorganizationsestablishedbylocalgovernmentswillparticipate in this research. Inthiscontext, it is plannedtoexamineand transfer thedarkfourbehavior of thepersonnel. A questionnaire form wasprepared as a datacollectiontool in the research. Thequestionnaire form consists of 2 parts. First of all, thefirstpartincludesquestionsaboutdemographicinformation. Inthesecondpart of thequestionnaire, there is the Dark FourScale, whichwasadaptedintoTurkishby (Aytaç2022). Machiavellianismoccurred in the form of narcissism, psychopathyandsadism, and it wassuggestedtouse a 5-point Likertscale in theapplication of thescale.
