Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between exercise addiction and depression, anxiety and stress levels in individuals who do sports according to various demographic variables. A total of 301 volunteer participants (149 women, 152 men) attending gyms in Siirt province were included in the research. "Demographic Information Form", "Exercise Addiction Scale" and "Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale" were used as data collection tools. To examine the findings in more detail, the LSD test was used from post-hoc analyzes to determine the origin of the difference. Pearson correlation analysis was applied to examine the relationship between dependent variables. The results show that there is no significant difference between the gender variable of the participants and the sub-dimensions of postponement of individual-social needs and conflict and tolerance development and passion. However, a significant difference was detected in favor of female participants in terms of the hyperfocus and emotional change sub-dimensions. While there was no significant difference between relationship status and occupation variables and the postponement of individual-social needs and conflict and tolerance development and passion sub-dimensions, a significant difference was found in terms of hyperfocus and emotional change sub-dimensions. No significant difference could be detected between satisfaction with physical appearance and the sub-dimensions of excessive focus and emotional change, postponement of individual-social needs and conflict, tolerance development and passion. While there was no significant difference between weekly exercise duration and the postponement of individual-social needs and conflict sub-dimensions, a significant difference was found between hyper-focus and emotional change and tolerance development and passion sub-dimensions. Finally, no significant difference was detected between the gender variable of the participants and the depression, anxiety and stress subscales.
