Study on sports management department students anxiety about unemployment in relation with depression and anxiety level (Mediterranean region sample)

This study, which aims to determine the relationship between the anxiety related to the unemployment and the depression and anxiety levels of the students in the sports administration department, is a research in the general screening model based on quantitative data and in the relational screening model. The universe of current research; Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Adana Çukurova University, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Mersin University and Antalya Akdeniz University sports administration department are located in the Mediterranean region. Students studying in the department of sports administration in Mustafa Kemal University (n = 65) and Çukurova University (n = 79) Akdeniz University (n = 118) Mersin University (n = 20) and Mehmet Akif Ersoy University as evidenced by the simple random sampling method and the stratified sampling method. Psychometric questions about unemployment anxiety, Beck Depression Inventory and Trait Anxiety Inventory were used as data collection tools in the study. The intents of our work is to find the reasons for unemployment of the yound and educated and the negative effects of unemployment to younger generation. At the end of our research which we have done in Mustafa Kemal University, Çukurova University, Akdeniz University, Mersin University and Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Sports Management, based on students worry over unemployment; constant anxiety and depression levels are at the high levels.
