Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the research is to examine the relationship between career awareness and effective communication skills of students studying in the Department of Sports Management. Relational scanning, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The study was carried out with the participation of 240 students studying in the Department of Sports Management at Gümüşhane University in the 2023-2024 Academic Year. As data collection tools, Career Awareness Scale (CAS) developed by Yaşar and Sunay (2019) and Communication Skills Scale developed by Buluş, Atan and Sarıkaya (2016) were used. SPSS (v22.0) program was used for data analysis. Examinations were made according to demographic information and sub-dimensions of the students participating in the study and various differences were observed. It was determined that there was a significant positive linear relationship between the participants' career awareness levels and their level of using effective communication skills. (p<0.05) It was observed that certain demographic characteristics affected career awareness, while some characteristics did not. Effective communication skills are affected by the place where the family lives, monthly income, and priorities in a good career sentence. In addition, it has been determined that some demographic characteristics do not affect effective communication skills. In the light of the findings, it can be said that the students who participated in the research have career awareness and effective communication skills.
