Abstract (EN)
It was aimed to reveal the CIPP evaluation model and efficiency of Commissions of Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) of sport management education program in terms of accreditation standards implemented in the Department of Sport Management at Sakarya University School of Physical Education and Sport. On the basis of CIPP model, which has a holistic and multidimensional evaluation understanding, evaluations were done in line with context, input, process and product dimensions with the aim of revealing the efficiency of the program. This process was also accompanied by the standards of COSMA. This research is a mixed method study in which qualitative and quantitative methods are used. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected together by means of using converging design in order to evaluate the Sakarya University Sport Management Education Program in the study. Probability and purposive sampling technics were used together in the study since the research contains both qualitative and quantitative methods. Data collection method in the study was done in two dimensions: Qualitative and quantitative. While document analysis, interview and focus group methods were used in qualitative dimension, a survey method was used in quantitative dimension. Descriptive analysis was used for the part of documents analysis of obtained data from qualitative method. On the other hand, inductive analysis was used in the analysis of obtained data from interviews. There were 2 focus group, 10 individual interviews and quantitative data was collected through survey. A total of 8 students comprised of 4 female and 4 male for each focus group, 92 graduated students and 309 active students participated in the survey study. By associating with qualitative findings, quantitative findings were commented in the research. In line with the sub problems of the study, findings have clearly shown efficiencies and deficiencies of the program in the context, input, process and product dimensions. As a result, Sakarya University Sport Management Education Program was found to have both efficiencies and deficiencies in the dimension of context, input, process and product. It is possible to say that while the efficiencies of program may provide an advantage, deficiencies may provide disadvantage. Key words: Sport Management Education, Commission of Sport Management Accreditation, Education Program, CIPP
