Materials and Methods: In the 2018-2019 season, 454 athletes including 124 football players, 101 basketball players, 135 volleyball players and 94 taekwondo players who participated in amateur sports clubs and Bağcılar Olympic Sports Center were included in the study. Sociodemographic Information Form and Sportive Self-Confidence Scale were applied to the participants. Data were analyzed in SPSS 23.00 program and descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA were used. The findings were evaluated at 95% confidence interval and 5% significance level. Results: Athletes had a high level of sports self-confidence. Sportive self-confidence levels of male athletes were significantly higher than girls. Sport and self-confidence levels of football and taekwondo athletes are significantly higher than basketball and volleyball athletes. According to the BMI assessment, sportsmen's self-confidence levels of the weak athletes were significantly higher than those of normal weight and obese athletes. The sportsmen's self-confidence levels of the athletes between the ages of 13-14 are significantly higher than those of the athletes aged 15 and over. The level of self-confidence of the athletes whose parents do sports is significantly higher than those who do not have any family members. Conclusion: By taking into consideration that sport self-confidence level is higher in males, low age groups and weak athletes and the increase in parallel with the number of years of sports, it is necessary to develop exercise programs in order to increase the level of sport self confidence. However, families should direct their children to sporting activities from an early age. Key words: Sport, athlete, self-confidence, trait self confidence
