79 9. SUMMARY The aim of this study was to compare the balance parameters of the sportsmen who are in different branches and to determine the change of these parameters after the exercise. In this study, 13 basketball players, 9 gymnastics and 13 football players were included, who are still active players and volunteered to join. The average age, height and weights of the subjects were, in basketball players; 20.85 years, 192.25 cm and 87.85 kg, in gymnastics; 21.11 years, 173,44 cm and 66.16 kg, and in football players; 21.31 years, 174,39 cm and 70.07 kg. Dominant leg, nondominant leg, both leg and dynamic balance measurements of the subjects were analyzed with KAT 2000 (Kinesthetic Ability Trainer) stabiliometer and the measurements were done twice before and after the exercise for each of the parameters. Bruce protocol was applied for the exercise protocol. For the metabolic measurements during the exercise Sensor Medics 2900c metabolic measurement device was used. The air that was given by the subjects in each inspiration was analyzed by metabolic measurement device with the method of breath by breath and the results were calculated automatically and stored into the computer. SPSS for Windows 11.00 package program was used in the statistical evaluation of the datum. For the comparison among the branches, Kruskal Wallis H-test and to determine the source of the difference, Mann Whitney U-test was applied. T-test and Wilcoxon tests were applied in the comparison of pre and post test balance scores. Correlation analyze was used to determine the relation among the parameters. Level of significance was set at 0.05. According to the results the comparison of balance scores among the branches; dominant, nondominant and both leg static balance scores were found in basketball and gymnastics branches as; p<0.05 meaning level. And the dynamic balance score was found in basketball - gymnastics and gymnastics - football branches different in meaning level. (p<0.05)80 After the applied exercise; while the dominant leg static balance score was found different (p 0.05) for basketball and gymnastics branches, no significantly difference was determined in football branch (p>0.05). In the result of the comparison of nondominant leg pre and post test static balance scores, it was determined that there was no significantly difference. (p>0.05). Both leg static balance scores; while differentiation was seen in meaning levels for basketball players in pre and post test average values (p<0.05), any significanly difference could not been determined in gymnastics and football branches. (p>0.05). When the dynamic balance scores were examined, while the average values show a significantly difference just for the basketball branch (p<0.05), any significantly difference could not been determined in gymnastics and football branches. As a result, it has been determined that the balance performances of the gymnasts were higher than basketball players. The ability of balance of gymnasts was found advanced according to the football players just in dynamic balance, but carrying on the static balance was not found differently in both of these two branches. It was seen that the balance performances of the football players are close not only to basketball players, but also to gymnasts, and basketball and football players have the similar features about the balance ability, it has seen a decrease on the balance performances of the dominant leg of basketball players and gymnasts after the exercise, but any performance change was not seen on football players. Dynamic balance performance has changed after the exercise just on basketball players.
