Abstract (EN)
Objective: The aim of this study is to examine values, goal orientations and attitudes to moral decision-making in sports. Method: The study group consisted of 368 athletes aged between 16-20 years who play different sports in different sport clubs in Antalya. "Youth Sport Values Questionnaire-2 (YSVQ-2)", The Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire (TEOSQ) and "Attitudes to Moral Decision-Making in Youth Sport Questionnaire (AMDYSQ) used as data collection tools. Results: According to the findings of the research, it was seen that athletes have more task oriented goals than ego oriented goals. Athletes give importance to competency, morality and status values respectively. Athletes have a low average of cheating and gamesmanship scores and high average of keep winning in proportion scores. Results of the Pearson correlation indicated that there was a significant positive association between task orientation and moral values, competence values and keep winning in proportion, and between ego orientation and status values. In addition, there is a positive correlation between moral value and keep winning in proportion, and a negative relationship between moral value and cheating. According to the results of the comparative analysis, significant differences were found in terms of gender and sport type variables in the task orientation, gamesmanship and moral value scores. Conclusion: In this study, it is determined that there are relationships between athletes' values, goal orientations and moral decision making attitudes.
