Analysis of users' opinions on distance education practices in sports: The case of TBF Academy Application

The opinions of the users about distance education and their reactions to the education they studied by the distance education method differ. Determining the opinions of the users about distance education on sports may help to eliminate the negative opinions that may arise against distance education in sports. These views are also thought to contribute to distance education practitioners while designing education and creating a user-based process. The fact that there are almost no information and expressions about distance education applications in sports in the literature constitute the research problem. In this research, examples of distance education in sports were examined. In addition, opinions of referee, coaches, administrators, parents, health care workers, conditioners and league representatives who study distance education in Turkey Basketball Federation with TBF Academy distance education platform towards distance education were examined by applying qualitative research methods. Case study design and interview technique, which are among qualitative research techniques, were used in the study. The study was conducted with 21 people who are TBF Academy users. The results obtained from the study show that many of the participants have positive views on distance education thanks to the pandemic. It is observed that the participants approach sports and distance education / hybrit education positively. Almost all of the participants evaluated TBF Academy positively and suggested a more interactive education environment.
