Sport schools widespreading sport in to society (a study focused on opinions of physical education teachers)

-174- SUMMARY The purpose of this study was to examine some opinions of physical education teachers on school sports concerning to disseminating sport to the society and to give some suggestions about the applications. With this aim some necessary information was given by reweiving of some literatures related to this subject. Also a questionare was applied to physical education teachers to find some solutions for the problem of this research. The scope of the study was formed with the teachers employed in schools which are affiliated to Ministry of Education and the sample has included the 347 physical education teachers who had been chosen randomly from the mass forming with 546 teachers employed in Ankara in 2002-2003 season. As statistical analysis in evaluation at opinions of physical education teachers, frequency, percentage of data, K-square, t-test and Anova tests were done by SPSS stastical program. As a result, it has been determined that physical education teachers thought; their course's hours were not enough, school sport could contribute to dissemination of sport, sport in the country has some problems related to materials sport facilities, and management, school sports were very effective to dissemination of sport into society and improving the students grades, the distrubution of sport specialists in to the area were not sufficient. To give enought time for sport facilities into out of courses and orienting their students to sport branches were also the opinions determined. In this respect it could be said that school sports have no contribution to the sport in country in normal conditions.
