68 SUMMARY The purpose of this study was to determine the role of media directing the wrestlers towards to the wrestling. Totaly 530 wrestlers were candantly selected as subject from Kahramanmaraş, Samsun, Kütahya, Denizli, Çanakkale, Kastamonu, Ankara, Van, Çorum, Adana and Kayseri where wrestling is done high density. A questionaire that included 20 questions, were applied to subjects to get data. Also the questionaire divide into three sections. Questionaire was prepared according to opinions and suggestions of specialists. Before application of questionaire to the subject, it was applied to a group consisted of 20 persons to control and to remove the deficiencies of questionaire. The datas taken from questionaire were analized by microsoft excel statistics program, the frequency distributions, percentage scores and total weight reach the middle of were calculated and the tables were created. At the end of the study, the result indicated that, the most of the subjects were studying in university, they thougt that the media had an important role to widespread the sport into society. On the other hand the subjects reported that there was no effect of media directing of themselves towards to wresling.
