Colorful paints are utilized to increase the visual perception of porcelain tableware and ornaments such as plates and glassed. Since these products are used in contact with stains, detergents or food products, wear and corrosions of paintings is occurred after a certain period of time. In this study, transparent glaze compositions applicable to the painted tableware developed in order to minimize the damage and wear the painted porcelain tableware and ornaments. High transparency, glossiness and compatibility with the porcelain body were aimed. The glazes compositions with different compositions were applied to porcelain products on which precious metallic painting exists. Then, the glazed products were subjected to final sintering between 870˚C-900 ˚C. The color values of porcelain products. L-a-b measured with a spectrophotometer color measuring device and the wear and erosion resistance of the glaze layer was determined by following washing test. Chemical compositions and phases formed during sintering of samples were detected by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques, respectively. The results indicate that highly transparent and wear resistant glaze compositions containing only %30 of frit can be developed.
