Abstract (EN)
In this study, aftermath World War instead of traditional diplomatic tools rather prominent cultural diplomacy and the most important instrument of it which is use of music, considers via, famous conductor Niyazi Tağızade's Turkish-USSR-Azerbaijani relations and examines Tağızade's role in Turkish-USSR-Azerbaijani cultural atmosphere development. During his stay in Turkey, Tağızade conducted Western Classics, Soviet Russia and Azerbaijan composers' works staging as well as Adnan Saygun which is a product of the early Republican era cultural policy Köroglu operas and has directed the Yunus Emre Oratorio further and the major composers of the works in Turkey and he has performed in various stages of the Soviet Union. In the light of documents, it can be seen that while Tağızade's activities in Turkey seemed to propagate and glorify the USSR to the Turkish public, even though these works are not related to ideological motives. While serving Soviet music, Niyazi Tağızade aimed to contribute to Turkish music culture with his statements and works, within this context, Tağızade's activities, which has started in Moscow 1963 to1977 have evaluated as a being cultural ambassador. The aim of this thesis, detailly considering Tağızade's life and Turkey studies by prioritizing diplomacy, music and culture. In addition to a descriptive and biographical dimension, the research has benefited from resource reviewing, document analysis and comparison and face-to-face interviews.
