Abstract (EN)

In this study, the environmental effects of the shale of a private colliery washing plant were investigated in the case of acid mine drainage (AMD). For this purpose, sampling and sample reduction processes and static (Sobek, ABA, ASTM) and kinetic (column, moisture cell) tests in international standards were applied. In the tests, the effects of working parameters such as grain size, column diameter, bacteria amount (thiobacillus ferrooxidans) on AMD were systematically investigated. While the static tests were evaluated according to the sulfur (%S) analysis of the solid samples, the kinetic tests were evaluated by looking at the pH, Eh (Electrical potential (mV)) and Ec(conductivity(mS/cm)) values and anion-cation and ion contents of the obtained filtrates. According to static tests, the total S value of the samples is in the range of 0.2-2.1% on average. While the average AUP value of the samples was 30.42544 kg*CaCO3/t, the average NP value was 182.6389 kg*CaCO3/t. The average NP/LUP is 8.88 kg*CaCO3/t. In addition, in the colon tests, the pH value was between 7.21-9.8, the Eh value was between 140-400 mV, and the conductivity was between 0.1908-30 mS/cm, excluding the experiments using bacteria. However, in experiments using bacteria, it was observed that the pH value changed. The Eh value was determined between 172-525 mV and the conductivity was determined in the range of 0.273-12 mS/cm. As a result, it was determined that the formation of acid mine drainage would not be expected in the area subject to the study. This is especially due to the high neutralization potential of the host rock. However, the increase in coal content in the schists as a result of inefficient operation in the ore enrichment plant will affect the current situation. Achieving sustainability depends on the high efficiency and performance of the facility. Kewords: Acid Mine Drenage, Anion-cation, Kinetic experiments, pH-Eh-conductivity, Static experiments
