vAPPLICATION OF STATIC CONVERTERS IN POWER ELECTRONICLABORATORY(M.Sc. Thesis)Ümit Hakan ARIGAZİ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTIn this study, three-phase asynchronous motor speed control system is designedby use of dsPIC30F4011 microcontroller. It is possible to enter the requiredspeed value in the LCD by use of a keypad and the processor generates suitablePWM signals by comparing this value. Thus, it is possible to operate anyasynchronous motor in the range of 0-50Hz. Pulse width modulation (PWM)and open-loop speed control methods are used in the system. Besides, the ratioof V/F is fixed at a certain value in order to fix the motor torque. The intelligentpower module (IPM) used in driving the motor accommodates the switchingcomponents (IGBT) driving the motor in a pack and has a protection system,and thus it provides a great advantage. As a result of experiments, it is observedthat the system is simple and usable.
