Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of STEM-based activities on secondary school 5. it is the study of the effect of classroom students on science self-efficacy and Science learning responsibilities. For this purpose, the method of the research is a mixed method in which quantitative and qualitative methods are used Decoupled. The pattern of the research was determined as a nested embedded mixed pattern. Among the quantitative research methods, a pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design with a control group was used. The qualitative part of the study was designed in the form of document review. The working group of the study was assigned to the 5th Grade secondary school in a public secondary school in Körfez district of Kocaeli province during the 2023-2024 academic year. it consists of 38 students studying in the classroom. Within the scope of the research, Science Self-Efficacy Scale and Responsibility Scale for Learning Science and structured opinion forms were used as data collection tools for 5th grade students as pre-test and post-test. Within the scope of the research 5. At the end of the STEM activities, students were asked to fill out opinion forms. Basic statistical analyzes of the quantitative data were carried out with the SPSS 24 program and it was tried to determine whether the scores obtained with the 'Two-Factor ANOVA for Mixed Measurements' analysis technique created a statistically significant difference. In the analysis of qualitative data, student answers in structured opinion forms were examined through content analysis and codes were created and the codes were positioned within appropriate themes. For the reliability of the qualitative data analysis, some of the student responses were coded by another researcher and themes were created with high consistency. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the pre- and post-application of STEM-based activities in the study on 5th Grade students' Science self-efficacy and responsibilities towards learning Science. According to the data obtained from structured opinion forms, students stated that they gained positive behaviors despite encountering many difficulties during the studies. As a result of the study, it is recommended that STEM applications be disseminated at different grade levels and teaching concepts through interdisciplinary studies. In addition, another situation suggested as a result of the study is the necessity of a longer period of time in the positive development of responsibility for learning science and science self-efficacy.
