Abstract (EN)
In this study, a bacterial strain which is able to degrade non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) was labeled with the marker gene to enable monitoring of the bacterial cells in plants and the strain was introduced into plant seeds. As a result of the modification of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia strain KB2, which had been found to degrade naproxen, with the eGFP marker gene, and its introduction into plant seeds, it was determined that the strain can live in plant tissues. Therefore, in the future, this strain can be used for phytoremediation to remove NSAIDs from contaminated soils. Also, in the light of the evidence that some strains of S. maltophilia had been recorded as "endophytes", the general features of endophytes would be used to apply S. maltophilia for wide range of purposes including promoted growth or increased resistance against pathogens or biotic stress factors in plants.
