The energy policy of European Union and its effect on international security system

This study is composed of four main parts. The first part includes,definition of energy, importance, historical development and future of energy,kinds of energy sources, energy management and energy term and relationshipbetween environment and energy.In the second part the energy potential of candidate and membercountires with the countries, which are not EU Member, are discussed. Thirdpart concerns the energy potential of EU. In this context energy history of EU,aims of EU energy policies, legal energy pillars in EU, energy in EU summits,Europa energy projects, Trans-Europan Network, Energy Charter Treaty, EUenergy reservs, EU energy production and consumption, EU energy researchsand future of energy in EU are envisaged.In the concept of the international political and security system andmodels and teories, the effect of energy in the EU political system is to bediscussed. It is determined that the effect level of energy to the process ofintegration of EU ın the fourth part of the study.In the fifth and the last part of this study, before determining the effectof the energy to the international security system, first dealt with Energy crisisand sustainability of the energy supply after that international energy policytools, international energy bridges, international energy actors, energy regions,and the relationship between enviroment and energy, global energy challangesare handled. In context of the items such as energy challanges in Middle Asia,the Effect of 11th September to the Energy strategies, the energy dimension ofGulf War, it is to be determined the the effect of the EU Energy Policy to theinternational security system.Key Words: 1.
