The serial mediating role of digital transformation and organizational agility in the effect of strategic agility on organizational performance: A study in the manufacturing sector

This study addresses the impact of strategic agility, digital transformation, and organizational agility on organizational performance at both theoretical and empirical levels. The research population consists of SMEs operating in the manufacturing sector in Turkey. The data for the study were collected using the "convenience sampling" method, with the participation of managers from SMEs located in various provinces across Turkey's manufacturing sector. To test the compatibility of the data with the scales, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted initially. In this quantitatively conducted research, a "serial multiple mediation model" was employed, and it was concluded that the effect of strategic agility on organizational performance occurs through digital transformation and organizational agility. The findings indicate that strategic agility influences performance not directly, but through the mediation of digital transformation and organizational agility. These results highlight the necessity of considering indirect pathways when evaluating the impact of strategic agility and digitalization on organizational performance outcomes. The chains of influence among the relevant variables are anticipated to offer both theoretical and methodological contributions for future research.
