The effect of talent management on employee motivation in the context of strategig human resources management

With the effect of globalization, the acceleration of competition conditions between businesses has increased the importance of people's knowledge, skills and abilities in terms of businesses. It has emerged that there is a greater need for human resources management, as businesses need knowledgeable, highly skilled and talented employees in addition to the technical equipment they need to gain competitive advantage. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the effect of talent management on motivation in the context of strategic human resources management. Within the framework of this main purpose, data were collected from the employees of private sector companies operating in Kastamonu, Turkey, through questionnaires. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews and e-mail. The collected data were analyzed with the Structural Equation Model-SEM. After the validity and reliability analyzes of the questionnaire were made, the hypotheses were tested by applying correlation and ANOVA tests to the data within the framework of the model. A positive relationship was found between talent management and motivation. In addition, relationships were found between the sub-dimensions of work motivation and talent management. Significant differences were found between demographic variables, education level, motivation and talent management. As a result, in the context of strategic human resources management, talent management is positively related to employee motivation and talent management is related to all sub-dimensions of motivation.
