Abstract (EN)

The study of executive leadership from a strategic choice perspective, or more concisely, strategic leadership, focuses on the executives who have overall responsibility for an organization - their charectristics, what they do, how they do it, and particularly how they affect organizational outcomes. The executives who are the subjects of strategic leadership research can be individuals (ex. CEOs or division general managers), groups (top management teams), or other governance bodies (ex. boards of directors). We use the term of "strategic leadership" because it connotes management of an overall enterprise, not just a small unit; and it implies substantive decision-making responsibilities. It is important to abiding interest in comprehending the factors that lead to superior organizational performance. Because many colleagues believe that performance is determined in great part by the strategic choices and other major organizational decisions made within the firm. Activities often associated with strategic leadership include making strategic decisions; creating and communicating a vision of the future; developing key compotencies and capabilities; developing organizational structures, processes, and controls; managing multiple constituencies; selecting and developing the next generations of leaders; sustaining an effective organizational culture. This study examines the phenomeon of strategic leadership of organization, and tries to present a taxonomy through which it can be studied.
