Usage of info-communication technologies in strategic supply chain management: An application in retail sector

Today?s perception in competition is between enterprises? Supply Chains which starts from suppliers of suppliers? and continues to consumers of consumers? beyond between enterprises. Supply Chain Management concept is a strategic level activity which should be executed by top level managers of enterprises. Rapid development of computers and Internet in last 20 years has made a significant impact on business management and especially on Supply Chains of companies. 21st Century?s enterprises should benefit from Info-Communication Technologies in Strategic Supply Chain Management to provide and maintain competitive advantages.Dissertation consists of three sections.In the first section; Supply Chain Management?s scope, definition, development and relation between Marketing and Logistics functions, Strategic Supply Chain Concept and activities in Strategic Supply Chain extent is discussed.In the second section; Informatics, Informatics Management and Info-Communication Technologies Concept, Effects of Informatics in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Management Sofwares, Electronic Supply Chain Management, Info-Communication Technologies used in Supply Chain Management and Strategic Supply Chain Management in Retail Sector topics are examined.The Third and the last section concludes, a study with Delphi Technique towards the usage of Info-Communication Technologies in Strategic Supply Chain Management in Retail Sector and findings related to this study.
