Özet (EN)
The material of this thesis consists of skeletal remains uncovered in the so-called Church Necropolis during the West Street Excavations between 2014-2016 in Stratonikeia under the direction of Prof. Dr. Bilal Söğüt. Studies have focused on 103 individuals from 59 tombs. Althought the church is said to have been built in the 4th century and to have been abandoned in the 7th century A.D. and the tombs are said to have dated back to the Roman Imperial Period, i.e. 11-12th century A.D., these suppositions are uncertain. Skeletal remains were examined in three main sections as gender, age and pathologies. Traumas with high rates in pathological cases in 103 individuals were examined by making separate categories. Congenital anomalies (malformations), which are the most fundamental of inheritance, are given in separate titles. Even if it is sufficient to explain these observations in a statistical context, by taking samples that can give us the information of kinship and all genome features of the skeletons, studies have been conducted with international partners to clarify our evidence. KEY WORDS: Stratonikeia, West Street, Church, Paleoanthropology, Pathology.
