Abstract (EN)
Aim of the study: We want to investigate Transobturatory Tape (TOT)technique which was described in 2001 for Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI)treatment on efficiency and reliability of incontinence and life quality for earlyand mid-term time periods.Material and Methods: The patients who had admitted to our clinicwith SUI complaint were enrolled this study. The patients with previous surgeryfor incontinence and/or pelvic organ proplapsus, had advanced systemicdisease and predominant urgency incontinence component were excluded fromthe study. The enuresis rate and used pad number of patients were determinedin preoperative and postoperative 3, 6, 12. months and last visit. Additionallylife quality of patients was evaluated with ICIQ-SF (International Consultationon Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form) query. Wilcoxon signed rank testwas used for statistically analysis. Results: The 41 patients were included to the study which were mean55,0 (39?76) years old and they were followed up 20,3 (5?35) monthspostoperatively. The 25 patients had pure stress incontinence and 16 had mixincontinence. The mean operation time was 11,4 (9-15) minutes. Regardingincontinence, 39 (% 95,1) patients had total cure but, the treatment of 2(%4,9) were failed. There were no early and late term complications related tothe operation. In one patient the vaginal sutures were unraveled because ofearly sexual intercourse and the tape was observed in vagina, later thecondition was corrected with re-operation. The mean ICI?Q scores weremeasured as 18,8 in preoperative period, 1.7 in postoperative 3. months, 1.27in postoperative 6. months, 1.25 in postoperative 12. months and 1.20 in lastvisit. The ICI?Q scores in all postoperative periods were low according topreoperative period and this result was statistically significant (p<0,000).Comparing the data of all postoperative ICI?Q scores was not statisticallysignificant (p>0.05).Conclusion: We concluded that the TOT technique for SUI treatmentwas easy handled method, with low complication and high success rate so thismethod was preferable. The method is frequently used in last years with high
