Prof. Dr. Süleyman TOPAL SUMMARY Plant assets in our country are quite high due to the fact that they are located at the inter section of three phytogeographic regions. Plants are being researched in large numbers because of their important properties for human health. According to World Health Organization (WHO) research, the number of medicinal plants used for the rapeutic purposes is around 20.000. Despite this, the plant richness in ourcountry is not benefited enough. As in the world, in our country, the natural flora of plants are used for treatment purposes, food, tea, spices and cosmetic industry applications among the people for many years. In this study, wetried to determine the distribution areas of thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) plant that grows naturally in the Turkmen Mountain region of Kütahya. For this purpose, field studies of thyme plant distribution areas covering about 1200 hectares in the months of April-May-June were determined.
