Abstract (EN)
The fabrics which are gained functional property with finish process, it is important as much as sewing process. Thus, some inovations has been done in sewing process to meet post consumer's expactations. In the sewing process, the sewing needle passes through the fabric and passes the sewing thread below, needle holes are formed along the sewing line. This is undesirable situation that should be prevented because water leaks through these holes in products obtained from waterproof fabrics. For this, there are different bonding techniques and applications such as waterproof tape bonding. However, there are advantages and disadvantages in these applications. In this study, polyamide fabrics of different weight obtained by applying the waterproof finishing coating technique to the weight of raw fabrics having close weight values at the same weft and warp density were used. During the sewing of the fabrics, fusible and non-fusible sewing threads were used in different combinations of lower threads. The waterproof performance of the samples were evaluated by hydrostatic head test method and comments were made on sewing threads.
