Abstract (EN)

Various factors play an important role in the efficient operation and management of water supply systems. Especially, wrong pump selection at pumped water supply system causes to excessive energy consumption and inefficient operation of system. In this study, evaluation of existing pumping systems and stations providing service at water supply system and analyzing of energy efficiency of systems were aimed. For this aim, pumping stations located in Adıyaman and Malatya cities were selected as case study. Existing pumping stations having different characteristics (e.g. installation power, pumping discharge, pumping head etc.) was evaluated and alternative pumps were selected by carrying out new power calculation. Power recoveries and operating costs were analyzed according to existing and new pumps alternatives. Moreover, in this study, multi-criteria decision analysis approach, named Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was applied for evaluation of structural and technical condition of pumped water systems. For this aim, main factors such as pumping station, building condition and transmission lines, sub-factors such as pumping physical, pumping operating and technology, pumping station building, water tank building were considered. The weights for all factors were calculated by AHP method and structural and technical condition evaluation analysis was carried out for stations located in Adıyaman.
