Investigation of women's emergency support application within the scope of crime prevention strategy and the example of Tekirdağ province

KADES application, which is a software developed with local and national resources regarding the issue of violence against women, which has become a fundamental problem in Turkey, was designed within the scope of domestic violence, violence against women and the protection of children, and is made available only to women in order to prevent crime. As a result of users who are victims of violence or faced with a violent situation reporting through the application, law enforcement forces directly intervene in the incident in order to protect the person. In this case, the KADES application, which has a security feature such as a panic button, responds to women's requests for help. In this study, the user experience of 100 women who were victims of domestic violence in Tekirdag province about the KADES application and the effectiveness of the program were measured. The data obtained by conducting a survey with users who were victims of violence were analyzed with SPSS (Chi Square / Fisher's Exact). According to the results of the study conducted with the participants, a general determination was made that they found the application successful, which gave them confidence, and that the program was good. Ensuring public awareness of the application through information and training activities will both help communication within the family and contribute to the reduction of violence against women.
