Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the self- compliance levels and psychological symptoms of the children drifted to crime. As a measurement tool in research; Personal Information Form which was prepared by the researcher, Offer Self Image Scale and Brief Symptom Inventory were used. The universe of the research; They are children who have been drifted to crime by the probation order and were given a consultancy, educational, treatment. During the data analysis process, the forms of eleven children were excluded from the evaluation due to their leaving the scales blank, creating a pattern or selecting the same option. As a result the sample consisted of 148 children who were drifted to crime. Whether the data showed normal distribution was checked by Lilliefors corrected Single Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test. When the normality assumptions were met, t-test and One Way Analysis of Variance were used. If the assumptions of normality were not met, Mann-Whitney U Test and Kruskal-Wallis Test were used. According to the findings obtained as a result of this research, in the self- compliance levels who are drifted to crime; In the variables of gender, age, educational status, employment status, number of siblings, migration status, parental deprivation, parents' employment status, running away from home, having a criminal friend, having a criminal relative, repeated crime and type of crime, the differences between the groups were found to be statistically significant. In the psychological symptom levels of children who are drifted to crime; It was found that the differences between the groups were statistically significant in the variables of gender, number of siblings, running away from home, having a criminal friend, having a criminal relative, repeated crime and type of crime.The findings are discussed in the light of the literature.
